This is the first post in a series of blogs called "Song Story." Every song has a story and so I begin with the original title song of my new album. The melody and style for this tune first came to me in the Spring of 2013 as I thought about a love song for my wife Laura. As the theme for our show is a "Walk Down Memory Lane", I was reminded of how my grandmother used the age old tradition of signing her birthday cards with xxxxoooo. This "signature" has its roots in the Christian Faith (symbolizing sincerity, faith, love, good friendship, the cross of Christ) and is still used by many today as a way to express affection so this seemed like the perfect title. Not just for Valentine's Day, but something to be enjoyed all year round. A classic expression of love in what I call a Retro Pop/Big Band Style.
